Overview
Tool tips are small annotations that can be set to appear as the user moves their mouse over a chart element. These small information pop-up windows can contain any type of information including a message about the element they represent, the value of a single data point, or they can be used to give the user other information as needed. This article describes how to use tool tips with the Dundas Chart for SharePoint™ web part.
Setting Tooltip Properties
In order to use a tool tip for a chart element, you must access the chart web part's Advanced Properties page where you can then proceed to set that element's ToolTip text. Several items support the use of tool tips, and as such can display tool tip boxes like the one shown in Figure 1 below.

The chart web part elements that support the use of tool tips include the Series, and the Titles elements. Within the these elements, there are properties that allow you to set the text to display in tool tip boxes.
Series Element
The Series element has several items that support the use of tool tips including the following:

LabelToolTip property that is found under the Label category.

Titles Element
The Titles element has one ToolTip property that is found within the MapArea category, it displays a tool tip when the user hovers their mouse over the chart web part's title as shown in Figure 5 below.
