Return Value
A value that represents the interval between grid lines. Defaults to not being set (Double.NaN) for major grid lines, and defaults to "Auto" (represented by a value of zero) for minor grid lines.
By default this property is not set for axis labels, major tick marks and major grid lines. If it is not set (by default, or explicitly at design using "NotSet" or at run-time by assigning Double.NaN) then the actual value of this property is determined by the Interval property of the Axis object that the chart element (e.g. grid line, tick mark) belongs to.
The interval of minor tick marks and grid lines is never affected by the Axis.Interval property value.
The interval is measured in axis units, and determines how often an applicable chart element is drawn. For example, if a column chart has an X axis step of 1 (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.) then setting the AxisX.LabelStyle.Interval property to 2 will result in an axis label being displayed for every other column.
The same holds true for all applicable chart elements. In other words, for the previous example if strip lines were being used with a IntervalOffset of 0.5 and their Interval property was 2 then a strip line would be displayed at 0.5, 2.5, 4.5 etc.
An Interval setting of zero (0) will result in an automatic interval that is determined by the control.
Sunday is considered the first day of the week.
For a detailed discussion of interval-related properties see the Setting Axis Label Intervals topic (also applies to grid lines, tick marks and strip lines).
